Tom - TG Building & Construction

From the beginning, our work with Tom has been about building a business that matches both his high standards and long-term ambitions. As a talented young builder leading a growing team, Tom came to us with a strong foundation of quality workmanship—and we helped him back that up with a deeper understanding of the numbers behind the scenes.

One of the most impactful areas we focused on was calculating the true cost of his team, allowing Tom to ensure his charge-out rates were not only covering expenses but generating strong profit. As a result, he’s been able to more than triple the profit he earns from his staff.

This financial clarity has given Tom the confidence to estimate and quote with accuracy, and to have informed, assertive conversations with clients when discussing pricing.

Together, we’ve also worked on shaping the team around him, ensuring the right people are in the right roles to support the direction of the business. As the business has matured, we’ve supported Tom in transitioning from cost-plus invoicing to fixed-price quoting, and we’ve laid the groundwork for his future goals—specifically moving into property development.

Mick - Macanax Bin Cleaning

Our coaching journey with Mick began by uncovering what he truly wanted his business to do for him—not just in terms of income, but in how it supported his lifestyle, time, and long-term personal goals. From day one, our focus was on helping Mick define success in his own terms and then working backwards to build a business that would deliver on that vision.

With those long-term goals clearly in sight, we partnered with Mick to design a business model that aligned with his ideal way of living. A major focus was getting clear on the financials—calculating the true value of each job, refining his scheduling to make the best use of time and resources, updating his pricing structure to reflect the work's worth, and putting in place a system for managing cash flow more consistently and with less stress.

As the operational side of the business became stronger, we began laying the groundwork for something Mick hadn't had in years: time away from the business. We developed strategies to give him more control, allowing him to step back without everything grinding to a halt—bringing him closer to the freedom he was aiming for from the start.

Macanax Bin Cleaning is a unique, niche business, and Mick’s path doesn’t fit inside a generic framework. That’s why our coaching approach—tailored, flexible, and driven by Mick’s goals—was essential. It gave him the clarity, tools, and space to ask the right questions and make decisions that made sense for him. The result is a business that now works for Mick, not the other way around.

Chris - Carlaw Plastering Solutions

When Chris came to us, he had already experienced coaching that didn’t align with his goals—advice that pushed more leads and sales without first understanding the realities of his business.

At Tilt, we took a different approach. We started by getting clear on what Chris wanted his business to do for him, and only then began rebuilding the foundations that had been overlooked.

Together, we structured his schedule, analysed the financial implications of hiring staff, and built clear filters to protect his time and energy from the wrong jobs and clients.

Once the business was ready to grow, we helped Chris design a marketing and job management system that worked for him—from lead to quote, to completion and payment.

With support from BerryCA, we also helped him get clear on cash flow, tax, and BAS obligations.

As a result, Chris has gained confidence—not just in running his business, but in shaping it on his own terms. He’s now making decisions that are aligned with where he wants to go, and with the clarity to say no to anything that doesn’t fit.
